I was born and raised in Victoria; I am of Scottish-Irish ancestry, a heritage that I believe to be one of the reasons that I am consumed with a passion for needlework of all kinds as my fore mothers were.

The ever-changing natural world presents me with a deep desire to connect with the creative process, often using local influences to inspire me as I create my cloth and clay art doll figures.

My studio is like an archeological dig as you tunnel your way in through the fabrics, beads, paints, bones, shells, stones, dried foliage and all kinds of wonderful thrift store finds. The art dolls are sculptured of paper clay, handmade pressed paper, needle-sculpted and lightly painted. I use a lot of rescued vintage fine linens that are so often cast aside for the costuming of my figures.

My piece "Emerging" was selected for an International Woman's Day exhibit and the Madrona Gallery chose my art doll figure for “The Spirit of Emily Carr” show.  I was selected from a worldwide call out to art doll makers to be  published in the Lark 500 Handmade Dolls book. .

 I am one of tweve multimedia fabric artists, Fibres & Beyond, that have been together for 17 years and meet monthly to encourage artistic development and fellowship.
