I have enjoyed making art my entire life.  Once I discovered painting on silk, over 30 years ago, I was hooked.  I continue to enjoy the inspiration and the challenges that the various techniques continue to give me.  It is a very versatile art form in that it can be used to create wall art, scarves, clothing and more.  To control the flow of the dye on the silk, you can use a resist which holds each colour within it's boundaries, or you can paint a sizing  onto the silk before the dye is applied, or you can let the dye flow freely.  Each method has it's own challenges and rewards.

I have lived in the Victoria area for almost 40 years and continue to be inspired by the beauty of nature that surrounds us here.  I try to represent the flowers, the trees, the birds, and the seascapes that are always before our eyes.  

I am a founding member of Fibres and Beyond and have so enjoyed the camaraderie of the group.  We learn so much from each other and value each other's friendships.  I can't imagine life without these special friends and my art.
